Another success story for the Humane Society of Yuma

I'm writing you to give you an update on a dog that I adopted from the Yuma Humane Society in January 2007. We adopted a baby lab mix puppy from the shelter full of energy and heart and we named him Widget. He quickly won over the hearts of his new family, and big momma dog Willow (the kitties took a little longer to come around but they now roll on the ground and play right along with him as though he were one of them.).

He is an extremely smart dog becoming fully potty trained with in two weeks after we rescued him making him only 10 weeks old. By the time he was 4 months old he learned sit, shake, stay, and talking (barking when asked). By the time he was 25 weeks old he learned how to open up his kennal as well as sliding glass doors. I have NEVER had a smarter dog. He is truly amazing.

By the time he was 8 months old, my husband and I had our first baby and were so nervous how such a young and active dog would cope with our very new and very delicate addition. When we brought home our son, Widget approached with a wagging tail yet amazingly very slow as though he knew how delicate the baby was. And every day he approaches the baby in my lap in the very same way with slow moves, a wagging tail, and plenty of soft kisses. He really is the sweetest, most amazing dog I have ever met.

He is now a little over 1 year old standing tall and fit weighing in at nearly 75lbs, we're anticipating maybe another inch in height, he's a big boy and we love it! Thank you Yuma Humane Society for helping us find the perfect fit for our family, the true love of mans best friend, and helping us to give him a forever home!

I have attached some pictures of baby Widget, and Willow with Widget, as well as full grown Widget!
