Pixie

Hi!

This is Sheryn and Richie Wright, and we are the proud parents of our adopted little toy poodle, PIXIE.

She has been with us a little over a month now at 4 months old, and we are thoroughly enjoying her. She is a happy little girl, and is a lot of fun, too.

She likes to play with her toys retrieving them after we throw them down the hallway. She comes back with her toy running as fast as she can in our lap in our chairs. She makes us laugh a lot!! She is so funny! She is a great joy to us, and we love her very much.

Thank you HSOY,

Sincerely, Sheryn Wright

Two cats, one happy family

Our family adopted Clark in the Spring of 2007 and Vador in the Spring of 2008 from the Yuma Humane Society and both have been a wonderful addition to our family.

Clark, the orange & white male cat was abandoned along with his siblings in the foothills area, rescued by Jeanie Forester & taken to the shelter where my children fell in love with Clark at age 3 months old. He sleeps with my daughter every night & is a ball of fun.

Vador, the black cat, was left at the shelter at age 3 due to his family moving out of the area & couldn?t take him. Luckily, he was placed at Pets Plus for adoption through YHS while we were shopping there for an item and my husband fell in love with him and knew he would be a perfect playmate for Clark. He?s our watchdog cat and is a great companion for our family.

We would love to adopt more, but have a small home. These cats are part of our family & will always be loved & cared for in our home.

Having pets is such a good way to teach my children responsibility, gentleness, kindess, & commitment. They are better than any toy I could buy my kids.

Snowflake finds love on the internet!

Linda,

This is Snowflake in her new yard in Tucson. She has been to the groomer and the vet (he said I got a real steal) and she is one great dog. I couldn't be happier with her; she is fun to have around, and has adapted seamlessly to being an inside dog. Thank you for putting her on the web; I never would have found her otherwise, and she is a joy. I don't know if you ever contact the former owners, but I would love for them to know that she has a good home. She is the center of the universe here.

Mila and Ollie

I adopted my kittens, Mila and Ollie (formerly Maralynn and Macon),
from Petsmart in late July 2008. Whilst I'm responsible for providing
food, excrement disposal, healthcare, and feet to pounce in the middle
of the night, they seem to have set their own obligations as well!
For instance, every night they journey into my room from their game of
Predator and Prey to "tuck me into bed". After I begin dozing away, I
can, at times, feel the pressure rise off of whatever area they were
laying on to resume their game. It's quite hysterical. They also
play greeter at the door after my long days of teaching and
extracurriculars. Further, I may wake from sleep or naps to a nice
grooming on my legs and arms (and sometimes armpits, though we are
trying to curtail such unbecoming activities). In a few months, they
will help me break-in our newly built house in Somerton!

And just a PS: If you are leery of the "stray" label placed on kittens
and cats, let my testimonial ease your fears: Mila and Ollie were
brought into the Humane Society as strays.

Dita on the Road (an update)

Hey, it’s me, Dita, with an update on my life now. I’m a traveling dog and lovin it! Who would have thought from just a real mess emotionally that I would be livin the high life. Woof woof.
Plus I haven’t had to be in those extreme hot temperatures in Yuma even tho I have black fur I like to lay in the sun. Gosh we got in this house on wheels and off we went in June. We lived a little bit south of Flagstaff out in the trees and the very cool air for a couple weeks, then off to Albuqueruqe we went. That’s just a nice place to park your house for awhile.
Then off we went and in a couple days we were in a beautiful place called Angel Canyon where thousands of animals have their forever home. Gosh it’s pretty with tall red rocks and things I’d never seen before. I’m such a good dog now that can stay home for hours and guard the place and don’t get into a bit of trouble.
Well, a couple times there was something really really good smelling in the garbage and I had to check that out. I got the feeling they weren’t so happy when they came home that day. Now I’m in Salt Lake City and it’s just busy busy and noisey. AND all these kids??? I don’t think I like them. I’m trying but they just want to be pushy and pat me on the head.

So again it’s a big “I appreciate you Mike for calling and telling my family I was just a mess and needed help”. Never did I think my life would again have meaning and that I would be having so much fun. I’m spoiled to the max and I deserve it!

-Dita
